From the harvest, the wood is transported to the factory where it passes through a series of chemical and industrial processing until finally becoming cellulose. In addition of being sold to the market, cellulose is also incorporated in the production of our paper and consumer goods products. It is, at this stage, where the greatest part of Suzano's fossil emissions happens, through the use of fuels in stationary equipment factories (SCOPE 1). Although scope 1 is more representative, we also have scopes 2 and 3 emissions, in smaller proportion, in the industrial process.
